认知语言学视角下的情诗意象翻译研究 ——以《诗经》为例

论文摘要

中华民族的传统文化有着久远历史渊源。其中体裁多样的古典文学,尤其是雅致、优美而又深邃的古典诗词,无疑是最为炫目的一颗明珠之一。古典诗词在中国文学史上占有极高地位,在世界文学中也有着重大影响。而作为华夏文学的源头和古典诗歌的雏形,《诗经》,这部世界上最古老的诗歌总集之一,在中国文化中占据着相当重要的地位。其英译必定会为西方人打开一个了解和欣赏中华传统文化的窗口。许多年以来,中外学者、诗人和翻译家不仅在实践方面对中国古典诗词的翻译做出了巨大的贡献,而且还就中国古典诗词翻译的理论研究提出了各自精辟的见解。《诗经》的英译始于18世纪中叶,而后出现了众多《诗经》的全译本和选译本。由于意象一直被视为中国古典诗词的灵魂,是中国古典诗词美的载体。对意象的翻译是检验译本成功与否的重要标准之一。本文通过运用认知语言学中关于意象方面的理论,对亚瑟·韦理首次出版于1937年的非韵体《诗经》译本进行研究。同时将韦理的翻译理论与认知语言学的理论作一比较,以研究二者在理论与实践中的差异。因为意象是非常广泛的概念,因此本文将研究的重点放在了情诗的译本分析中。因为爱情是人类最美好最强烈的情感之一,其意象内容丰富,并能激起不同认知文化基础的人们同样的内在情感,是理想的研究对象。本文通过使用认知语言学中的意象理论,尤其是近年来新发展的文化等方向的研究成果,分析《诗经》中情诗的英译本,从一个新的角度理解翻译过程中意象的传递。从中了解到该理论在实际操作中的指导作用及其局限性,并期望能够通过本文的研究,对翻译实践给与一定的启示。
