选择与顺应 ——动态语境顺应在口译中的应用

论文摘要

语言顺应论是一个极富解释力和适应性的理论,它对口译研究有很强的启示作用。顺应论认为顺应性是人类语言的重要特征之一,语言顺应性主要涉及语境关系顺应、结构客体顺应、顺应的动态性和顺应过程的意识突显四个方面。在现有关于顺应论、口译和语境的研究基础上,本文提出口译活动是一个不断做出选择、顺应语境的过程。作为语言使用的一种,口译是一个根据语境不断进行顺应性选择的动态过程。译者在口译过程中必须考虑对译语语境以及译文的语言结构的顺应。口译活动既受到所处的语言内部和外部环境的制约又不断改变着其所在环境,因而口译永远处于动态的变化过程之中。口译中,语言选择包含了从音、词、句、符号、语言代码到文风、语用意义和篇章的每一个方面。为了能够很好的理解说话者的意思,交流双方一定要坚持顺应原则并不断做出选择。动态顺应被视为语言顺应理论的核心。口译中的语境顺应也应被视为一个动态过程。语境中的各个因素都可能影响对源语的理解及对译语的表达。本文系统地讨论了口译中语境顺应的分类和应用,从语言语境、情景语境和文化语境入手,通过实例分析阐明动态语境顺应对口译的作用及帮助。认为:口译时译员应恰当地顺应语境,领会原文的意义和功能,有策略地选择得体的表达方式,提高口译的速度与质量,从而满足交际的需要。
