不可见性对电话口译的影响

论文摘要

随着国际交流的日益频繁以及电讯技术的快速发展，电话口译在移民国家蓬勃发展，在中国等非移民国家也展现出巨大的市场潜力。然而，许多人怀疑由于缺失非语言信息，不可见性会降低电话口译的质量。因为缺乏该方面的研究文献，学术界对此莫衷一是。另一方面，学术指导的缺位阻碍了电话口译的进一步完善。考虑到这些情况，笔者在文中详细地介绍了这一新兴的口译形式，希望为其引起更多的学术关注。基于吉尔博士的认知负荷理论模型，笔者进行了关于电话口译和现场口译的对比实验以及后续采访，以确定不可见性对口译质量的影响。研究发现非语言信息不一定有助于口译，而不可见性不一定会降低电话口译的质量。实验分析表明，不可见性对电话口译具有多重影响——对电话口译的准确度和完整性有积极影响，对译员客观中立的立场和语言流畅性影响甚微，对译员的专业表现有负面影响。而且不可见性的影响因译员而异。然而对于电话口译员，技术制约因素是不可避免的；并且人们普遍不信任电话口译。于是在论文最后部分，笔者提出了改善电话口译质量的相关建议。措施包括改善电话口译员的工作环境、译员的筛选培训以及市场培育。笔者还指出，发展电话口译需要全社会的共同努力。
