重庆高校外专外教跨文化适应问题研究

随着经济全球化以不可遏制的势头向前发展,跨文化研究已经成为社会科学中一个重要的研究领域,而近年来,该领域中的跨文化适应问题又成为各国学者关注的焦点。在加快教育国际化的进程中,中国高校对外籍专家和教师(简称外专外教)的需求也越来越大。长期以来,中国高校对外专外教的管理多侧重于为他们尽可能地提供舒适的生活条件,照顾他们的生活习惯和宗教习俗。然而,外国专家要求参与中国文化生活的需要往往被忽视。实际上,他们在中国要顺利地工作,快乐地生活,还必须面对跨文化适应的挑战。本文借鉴了社会学、传播学和心理学的研究成果,从跨文化交流学的角度入手,利用定性和定量的研究方法,围绕以下四个问题对外专外教的跨文化适应状况进行了探讨。(1)外专外教来华工作的目的和期望是什么?(2)他们目前在华的文化适应状况如何?(3)哪些因素阻碍或促进了他们的跨文化适应?(4)我们能做些什么来帮助他们尽快地适应在中国的生活?本文采用了Colleen Ward有关跨文化适应的两分理论,即从社会文化适应和心理适应两个方面来考察在华高校外专外教的跨文化适应状况。根据以上四个研究问题,作者提出了相关的研究假设,并通过问卷调查对重庆地区13所高校共37名外专外教的跨文化适应情况进行了研究。随后,使用SPSS统计学软件对数据进行了信度和效度分析,相关分析和方差分析。分析结果表明,作者基于研究问题提出的相关假设,部分得到了印证,另一部分得到了部分证实,还有一部分没有得到证明。本论文的研究结果虽然还有待进一步的论证,但基本揭示了在华外国专家跨文化适应的规律和过程,为中国高校外事接待机构选拔和培训外国专家提供了有益的参考。
