限时条件下时长与字数对二语写作影响的研究

本论文论述的是一项关于写作时长与字数对英语写作质量产生影响的研究。该研究以南通大学非英语专业本科一年级30名学生作为研究对象。他们被要求就四个作文题目,分别在20、30、40、50分钟内写出100、120、140、160字的作文。写作质量是根据其复杂度、准确度、内容的丰富性和逻辑性来进行评定的。本研究旨在探讨限时条件下理想的文本长度与合理的时间要求。以往有关时间和英语表达水平关系的研究主要集中在国外,而且大部分是关于准备时间对口语表达水平的影响,针对时间长度对写作水平的影响的研究并不是很多。国内,在这方面的研究则更少,并且这些少有的研究要么是在重点大学里进行,要么是以英语专业的学生作为研究对象,针对普通院校非英语专业学生的研究基本上没有。有关字数对外语写作的研究,到目前为止几乎是一片空白。因此有必要在这方面进行更多的研究。本研究发现:(1)写作时长对二语写作质量产生影响。在字数确定的情况下,写作时间越充分,写作质量越高,但也有例外。在100,120,140,160字的限时作文中,40分钟最能有利于学生写作水平的发挥。(2)字数对二语写作有影响。在时长确定的情况下,写作质量随字数的增加而发生变化。140字作文总是质量较高。(3)写作时长与字数对二语写作的影响是通过对写作文本的准确性、复杂性和内容的影响而实现的。这项研究,清晰地反映了时长与字数对英语写作的影响,为推动大学英语写作教学研究的发展提供了理论与实践依据。
