浅论诗歌翻译批评 ——《诗经》各译本比较研究

翻译批评作为翻译理论和翻译实践的桥梁是翻译研究中必不可缺的一部分。但是，在翻译批评领域，对于诗歌翻译批评的研究却相对较少，其发展程度落后于其他形式的翻译批评研究。本文所讨论的主题是诗歌翻译批评，特别是中国古诗英译批评。对《诗经》不同译本进行了比较分析，旨在能够以一种更客观的方式给予译本相应的评价，并为《诗经》各种英译版本的赏析提供新的视角。在过去，传统的诗歌翻译批评往往都局限于源诗与译诗之间的语言比较和分析或是诗歌的形式再现。这种诗歌翻译批评在一定程度上都有失其客观性。在详细分析和比较历来各种不同的翻译批评方法的特征及其优劣之处的基础上，同时结合诗歌本身独特的语言特征和艺术形式，本文从较全面的角度对《诗经》的各译本进行比较，并将译者的翻译目的，历史背景纳入批评考量范围。为了能透彻地了解译者在翻译过程中所要处理的各种问题，本文对中英两种诗歌语言作了比较，对《诗经》的诗歌特点进行了分析。并且从《诗经》中选出三首形式不同，风格各异，主题多样的诗为分析批评对象。在详细分析各个译者译文的基础上，本文将译者划分为三大类，分别以理雅各，翟理斯，庞德为代表。通过比较分析得出三位译者由于其翻译目的不同，所采用的翻译策略也就随之变化；而其历史背景和知识结构的不同则致使他们的翻译风格也各有韵味。因此，在欣赏《诗经》译文的时候读者首先要了解源诗最突出的艺术特征和自身的阅读目的，这样才能使不同的译文各得其所，扬其所长。
