翻译过程中的语篇意识 ——一项基于有声思维的实证研究

近些年来,翻译研究蓬勃发展,许多学科如心理语言学和篇章语言学的介入拓展了翻译研究的视角。翻译研究已不仅仅局限于对翻译文本的研究,探索翻译过程也逐渐成为翻译研究的一个新的视域。翻译过程是译者解码原文和编码译文时进行文本加工的过程。在这一过程中,译者必须从宏观和微观两个层面来解码原文并编码译文,因此译者在翻译过程中是否具备语篇意识就逐渐成为研究者关注的焦点。目前,国内外的一些学者多从篇章语言学的视角来研究译者在翻译过程中的语篇意识,但这些研究仅仅是通过分析文本来推测译者的语篇意识。本文试图将图式理论和文本分析结合起来,以有声思维为基本的研究方法,探究译者在翻译过程中解码原文和编码译文时文本加工的具体方式,以此来进一步研究翻译过程中译者的语篇意识。本文以中国某大学28名翻译专业三年级学生为实证研究的对象,选用英语专业八级翻译考试中的一篇记叙文(英译汉)为实证研究的具体材料,对收集到的有效数据进行了定性分析。结合这项实证研究,本文得出以下几点结论。1.学生在英译汉的过程中具备语篇意识。首先,学生在编码译文时能够有意识地体现原文作者的写作目的和文本类型。其次,学生在理解原文和产出译文的过程中能够根据语境选择词义和句义。第三,学生具备语篇连贯的意识,他们在翻译过程中尽力弄清文本潜在逻辑结构中隐含的事件之间的关系。最后,学生具备语篇衔接的意识,他们在解码原文的过程中充分关注衔接方法并体现在目的语文本的编码中。2.学生在英译汉过程中的语篇意识有一些共同特点。第一,学生刚开始翻译时语篇意识不是很强。第二,学生在翻译短句时主要注意微观层面的语篇意识。第三,学生微观层面的语篇意识影响了他们对原文的理解和译文的产出。第四,宏观层面的语篇意识和微观层面的语篇意识在学生的翻译过程中都起到了重要的作用。第五,学生在翻译长句时会同时借助宏观语篇意识和微观语篇意识。这篇论文主要由六章构成。第一章陈述了研究问题和研究意义。第二章回顾了翻译过程和语篇意识的相关研究。第三章介绍了研究的理论框架—图式理论和语篇分析。第四章是研究设计。第五章对收集的数据进行了定性分析。最后一章是此项研究的讨论和结论部分。
