从互文性理论视角解读中国古典诗歌中的文化翻译

论文摘要

互文性是当代西方后现代主义文化思潮中产生的一种文本理论。二十世纪六十年代,法国文论家克里斯蒂娃首先提出了互文性这一概念,在此之后,许多理论家都对互文性理论进行了不同程度的发展。互文性理论主要关于文本建构和文本解读过程中当前文本和其它文本关系的理论,而翻译既要理解原文又要在原文本的制约下进行再创作,因此把互文性理论引入翻译研究是可行的。国内外众多翻译理论家都曾致力于将互文性引入翻译理论研究,然而关于该理论的实践研究方面尚需更多努力。因此,本文作者所关注的正是互文性在翻译实践方面的重要意义。作者认为中国古典诗歌具有大量互文性特点,因而选取古典名著《红楼梦》的两个有代表性的英译本作为个案,探讨其诗词典赋中文化因素,即互文符号的翻译,从而证明尽管互文性会给翻译带来很多困难,但妥善处理互文性可以帮助克服不同语言的巨大障碍,促进源语信息和目的语信息之间的有效传递,尽量减少文化缺损,从而为不同文化的交流和传播扫清障碍。本文共分为六章。第一章简要介绍了论文的理论背景、写作框架和研究方法。第二章介绍了互文性理论的产生和发展情况以及代表理论家。第三章探讨了互文性理论与翻译的紧密关系。第四章研究了诗歌中的互文现象。第五章具体分析《红楼梦》两个英译本对诗词中不同互文类型的翻译。主要评析的方法是找出原文中的一些互文本,分析这些互文本对于把握原诗的意义的作用及效果,从而考察两个英译本的得失。第六章讨论了两作者不同的文化取向以及互文性翻译方法对翻译过程和翻译批评的重要作用。第七章是本文的结论部分,指出了作者的观点,即互文性对诗歌的理解和翻译具有重要的意义,通过两个译本的比较进一步论证了互文性的恰当处理对提高翻译质量和更好地传递原作文化涵义的重要性。
