论文摘要
关联理论是语用学研究中出现的一个新的理论,它的使命虽然不是解释翻译,但却能够有效地解释翻译这一复杂的现象。它的应用为翻译提供了在关联理论的框架下,翻译是一个对原语(语内或语际)进行阐述的明示推理活动。此外,译文是原作者、译者及接受语读者在特定环境下交流的产物。意象是文化的精华,其内涵深远广大。它反映了一个国家的价值、思想和社会生活。文化意象是民族智慧的结晶,具有浓烈的历史文化底蕴。它不再仅仅被看作为一种语言现象,更重要的是作为人类普遍运用的一种认知能力和思维模式。本文以对文化意象的研究为切入点,运用关联翻译理论分析,讨论了异化和归化两种翻译策略,得出了结论”译者应结合目的语读者认知水平和具体的语境灵活地采取翻译策略”。论文第一章为导论部分。第二章主要介绍文化和文化意象,包括讨论语言、文化、翻译间的关系及其文化意象的定义和表现形式。众所周知,文化意象与文化历史背景紧密相关。不同的读者对文化意象有不同的理解,所以文化意象也具有模糊性。同时,文化意象的翻译又受到语言和文化等差异的制约,文化缺省因而会随之会产生。然后把文化意象分为四类,包括生态、物质、社会宗教和语言文化意象。第三章提出理论框架,回顾关联理论的研究。同时探讨关联理论和翻译的关系,并论及其理论启示。第四章,首先指出造成文化意象不同的原因,包括物质、社会、心理和历史因素。然后提出解决文化意象的两种翻译方法,并指出译者应采取灵活的态度来取得翻译的目的。由于文化交流的频繁及全球化趋势的大潮,异化翻译应首要考虑。最后,还提到译者的目标就是为了取得语境最大相关性,解析文化意象。第五章是本文的核心部分,作者指出译者在译文中的作用,并且从语言与社会文化两个方面具体分析了文学翻译中的文化意象。最后一章是结论部分,同时指出论文的局限性,并提出改正意见。
