高中生英语学习焦虑状况及对策研究

外语学习过程中的焦虑问题一直是困扰外语学习者的主要障碍,因此,如何缓解焦虑问题以促进外语学习就成为当前十分紧迫而又重要的任务。在我国,有关英语学习焦虑的研究虽然很多,但是多集中在大学生层面,对高中生这一特殊群体的焦虑研究还不深入;或是单独调查焦虑对英语学习某方面的影响,如听力,口语,阅读等。这就给我们的研究者们提供了广阔的研究领域。本研究将英语学习作为一个整体来考虑,旨在分析高中生英语学习焦虑水平,英语学习焦虑与学习成就之间的关系,各种因素对英语焦虑的影响情况,具体要回答以下几个问题:1.当前高中生英语学习焦虑水平现状如何?外语学习课堂焦虑量表(FLCAS)中最能引起学生英语学习焦虑的因素是什么?2.最让学生担心的英语技能是什么?3.英语焦虑与学习成绩的相互关系如何?是正相关还是负相关?4.不同性别,不同自尊心状况的学生是否会体验到不同程度的学习焦虑,从而影响学习成绩?5.是否还有其他的因素导致英语学习焦虑状况?6.教师如何降低学生的英语学习焦虑状况?本文采用问卷测量及访谈相结合的方式,运用Horwitz et al设计的外语学习课堂焦虑量表(FLCAS)做调查问卷,对长春市两所高中三个年级的60名学生进行焦虑状况的调查分析,再以访谈方式作为补充,SPSS13.0数据分析显示:1. 36.7%的高中生存在较高程度的英语学习焦虑;通过外语课堂焦虑测量表的调查显示,交际理解焦虑是课堂英语学习的最大障碍,其后是课堂不适,惧怕否定评价和测试焦虑,四因素都与英语学习焦虑正相关。2.高中生整体焦虑度最高的项目是口语表达焦虑和听力焦虑;3.成绩好的学生整体焦虑度明显低于成绩差的学生。焦虑与成绩负相关;4.男生焦虑水平高于女生,这与之前研究显示结果不同;5.自尊心弱的学生焦虑水平高于自尊心强的学生。6.导致以上现象的原因包括社会原因与个人原因两方面。学校和家长的过度期望,学业负担过重,高频度的考试,严肃的学习氛围是造成学生英语学习焦虑的社会原因。学生英语底子薄弱,缺失冒险精神,歧义容忍度低是导致英语学习焦虑的个人因素。基于以上调查和发现,作者相对应地提出一些对策:降低英语学习听、说焦虑的方法;让学生意识到英语学习中的焦虑问题;创造放松、活跃的学习氛围;教师应给予适当的评价;帮助学生提高学习自信心。本文的目的在于客观、全面地认识焦虑这一情感因素对高中生英语学习的影响,以便寻找焦虑源,帮助学习者有效地消除或降低英语学习焦虑感,进而达到提高英语教学质量的目的。
