论文摘要
本论文是关于高中英语教学中文化意识培养状况的一次实证研究。文化意识培养是外语教学中的一个重要组成部分,这一观点已成为中外学者及语言教育家的共识。在文化意识研究的理论领域,国外学者做出了重要的贡献,像Byram提出的“自我”和“他人”理论(1989),Kramsch的“第三者位置”(1993)理论,还有Tomalin和Stempleski提出的关于文化教育的七大目标(1993)等等。在2001年,国家教育部颁发的《英语课程标准》里,文化意识培养首次被列为英语教学的五大奋斗目标之一。一些国内学者也开始把研究方向投在文化意识在中国的培养这一课题上,像曹文(1998),刘宝军(2006)和李会平(2003)等等。他们关于对中国外语学习者文化教育的目标,内容以及教学方法提出了不少建议和方案。然而,关于文化意识培养在中国中学教育的具体实施情况和所取得效果的实证研究确不多。根据《新课程标准》要求所编制的教科书是否能有助于学生文化意识的培养?除了教科书以外,还有什么其他因素会影响学生文化意识的培养?学生和老师在文化意识培养的过程中遇到一些什么问题值得关注?学生的文化意识水平是否达到《新课程标准》大纲的要求?基于以上问题,本文将对文化意识培养在中国中学教育的具体实施情况和所取得的效果做一项实证研究。106名高三学生和4名中学教师参与了该研究,他们分别来自两间不同地区相对比较平行的学校。试题、问卷和访问面谈都作为研究的调查工具,主要通过定量分析和定性分析,对两校学生跨文化意识水平,文化意识的培养途径,对文化意识培养的态度以及在培养过程中遇到的问题进行了比较研究。研究结果表明,总体来说,学生的跨文化意识水平比较高,但两间学校学生的跨文化意识水平存在差异,而这种差异可以在两间学校的文化意识培养环境、师生对文化学习的态度、师生的语言,文化水平的高低等多方面的差异中寻求原因。另外,考试带来的压力和时间的紧迫,被认为是文化意识培养的主要障碍。对于这一研究结果本文做了较为合理的分析,探讨了其中可能的原因,并为英语文化意识培养提出了一些相关的意见和建议。
