安徽省某地高中学生英语词汇搭配能力之研究

本研究的目的是以高一新生的英语词汇搭配、组块能力与其高中入学英语学科成绩之间的关系、学生的学习背景和学习心理(学习动机、学习策略和认知方式)与英语词汇搭配、组块能力的关系、以及学生词汇搭配错误原因等三个方面来探究安徽省铜陵市高中学生的英语词汇搭配、组块能力。本研究的受试者是安徽省铜陵地区某三所高级中学部分学生:一所省示范重点高级中学、一所市级重点中学以及一所普通高级中学,共265名高一学生。研究工具为由研究者设计的一份英语词汇搭配测试卷和一份调查问卷:测试卷是由三大类词汇搭配50题的单项选择题组成;调查问卷是调查学生的学习背景、学习心理等因素可能对英语词汇搭配能力产生的影响,问卷同时还调查了受试者高中入学考试时的英语学科成绩以用来与词汇搭配测试结果进行比较。词汇搭配测试成绩被用于表征学生英语词汇搭配能力及分析学生词汇搭配错误的类别和可能的原因。本研究的问卷与测试结果是用来探讨以下三个问题:1、学生的英语词汇搭配、组块能力与衡量学生英语水平的高中入学英语学科成绩之间的关系如何;2、学生的学习背景、学习心理因素与学生的英语词汇搭配能力之间有何关系;3、高中学生的英语词汇搭配错误可能的原因有哪些?本研究结果显示受试学生的高中入学英语学科成绩较高者的英语词汇搭配测试成绩也较好,由此可以得出英语词汇搭配、组块能力是衡量学生英语水平的一个重要方面;而且,受试学生的学习背景、学习心理等因素中一些因素如:英语学习年限、课外学习时间、学习策略、学习动机等对他们的英语词汇搭配能力有重要影响;从总的方面来说受试学生的英语词汇搭配、组块能力显得不足。分析学生在搭配测试中的错误发现:否定迁移、误用同义词、形成错误概念及忽略搭配规则限制是产生搭配错误的主要原因。本研究结果得出建议:很有必要从学生外语学习的早期阶段开始,教师应当把重点从单个英语单词教学转移到英语词汇搭配教学上来。由于时间及其它资源条件有限,本文对高中学生词汇搭配能力的研究可能有失全面,研究成果也可能难以推广到其他学校,因此,期待进一步的相关研究。
