鲁迅小说中文化负载词的翻译

随着经济政治交流的迅速发展,文化交流变得越来越重要.翻译作为一种重要的跨文化交际方式,对它的研究不再局限于语言的分析和文本的对比.人们越来越注重翻译中的文化因素.事实上,翻译不仅仅是语言的转换而且还是文化的交流.它应该肩负起文化交流的重任.作为“文化使者”,译者不仅应准确传达原文中的语言信息,也要向读者介绍和传递源语中的文化异质成分.文化因素的翻译是翻译过程中的一个重要的障碍.文化负载词直接反映了一国的特色文化,对这类词的正确翻译会对文化的传播起关键性的作用.鲁迅先生的小说中出现了大量的文化负载词,它们构成了鲁迅小说的一大特色.本文以杨宪益和戴乃迭翻译的《鲁迅小说选》英译本为个案研究,主要探讨这本书本中文化负载词的翻译问题,力求探索译者的翻译策略并进一步试图找到恰当的翻译方法.异化和归化是两种主要的处理源语文化和目的语文化不同和差异的策略.在翻译过程中,归化意味着去除源语文化中的陌生感和文化异质成分,使译文读起来像原著一样流畅易懂.归化的翻译策略是以目标语为导向的.异化是与归化相反的一种翻译策略,异化的运用能使译文尽可能的最大限度的保留源语文化中的异域风情和文化异质成分,这样读起来才像真正的译文.本文从《鲁迅小说选》英译本中选出了对文化负载词翻译的例子,运用描述的方法,对这些例子进行了详细分析,力图发现译者所采用的翻译策略.对比是本文采取的另外一种方法,通过原文和译文之间的对比,我们可以发现在翻译过程中文化内涵的缺失.以异化和归化策略的理论框架为基础,把文化负载词的翻译例子作为研究对象,通过这两种研究方法的使用,作者试图总结出译者采用的规律性的翻译策略,并进而提出了自己的翻译观点和修改建议.为了保留原汁原味的源语特色,促进不同文化间的交流,以及反对文化霸权,这篇文章提出了一个亟需解决的重要问题,就是说,采取何种翻译策略,异化还是归化,才能使文化负载词得到充分恰当的翻译.对这个问题的研究将会对文学作品中文化负载词的翻译提供更好的帮助,进而使文学翻译更好的为跨文化交际服务.文章最后指出,在全球化背景下,为了把中国文化介绍到国外去,为了加强文化交流,在处理文化负载词的翻译时,译者应尽可能地贴近原文,采用异化的翻译策略,将文化的特色内涵原汁原味的传递出去;并且进一步指出,在具体的翻译实践中,可以采用直译加注释或音译加注释的翻译方法,作者认为,音译和直译可以使文化负载词的文化特色和异域特色得到保留,注释又可以提供详尽的解释扫除读者的阅读障碍以便确保读者能够充分地理解译文.简短的注释可以直接放在译文中文化负载词的后面,而篇幅较长的注释最好放在译文的最后,这样可以确保读者阅读的连贯性.作者最后呼吁所有的译者在进行文学翻译的同时注重文化传递,争取为跨文化交流做出更卓越贡献.
