大学双语教育研究:问题及策略

翻开各类报刊,杂志,我们不难从中获取这么一个信息:能够在不同的语言环境中熟练运用母语和外语的人才已经成为人才需求市场的一个热点。语言技能与专业技术技能在人才流通中已经逐渐统一为一个整体,缺一不可。中国加入WTO,世界经济一体化,全球化的需要深入人心,中国的申博,申奥成功等,这些更刺激了人才市场的竞争力度,今天的中国需要大批高素质的复合型人才。人们越来越意识到外语的重要性。非英语专业学生占所有学习英语的学生中的绝大部分,而他们又将承担对外合作与交流的重任。但当前的大学英语教学现状不能满足这一需求。中国自高校扩招给大学英语教学带来新的挑战,传统教学已不适应新的形势。双语教学起源于19世纪的美国,我国的双语教学始于上个世纪90年代,经过多年的发展,目前许多城市的各类学校均开设了双语课程,双语教学在我国呈现蓬勃发展的景象。然而由于历史传统和现实条件等因素的影响,双语教学在我国还存在不少问题,面临诸多困难。本研究在综观国内外高校双语教学研究的基础上,以太原理工大学双语教学为研究个案,力图探究制约国内高校双语教学发展的问题,并从个案研究角度折射和思考国内高校双语教学发展的具体策略。围绕研究主题,全文分从不同的层面和角度进行相关研究。对提高教学质量和双语能力,促进我国双语教学的健康发展,增强民族国际竞争力具有非常重要的意义。本文采用文献研究法,访谈法,观察法,问卷调查等方法,通过对太原理工大学双语教学的调研,在分析总结大量参考文献的基础上,指出目前我国高等院校双语教学在观念认识,师资质量,教学手段及教学环境等方面存在的问题,并对问题产生和存在的原因进行了深入细致的分析。在此基础上,提出通过更新观念,提高认识,强化质量。营造环境,选好教材,完善机制等措施解决高校双语教学存在问题的思路,为促进我国高校双语教学质量,更好的服务社会提供理论支持。
