跨文化友谊之第三种文化构建 ——从本土角度出发的研究

全球化使具有不同文化背景的人们之间的接触越来越频繁和深入,从而使形成跨文化友谊的可能性大大增强了,然而频繁的接触并不一定就能产生友谊。通常情况下,中国人和外国人之间产生的只是一种类似友谊的友好关系或者仅是一般朋友关系。第三种文化是来自不同国家的人们为达到某一特定共同目标进行交流时产生的一种特殊形式的文化。中外朋友通过不断地协调差异和发掘共同之处来构建第三种文化。本论文描述了第三种文化构建的三个阶段,即初期接触阶段,试探性阶段和稳定阶段。本论文采用的是实地研究方法。作者对八名外国人和九名中国人进行了深度访谈,十七名受访者中有三对是跨文化结成的朋友。从本土化的角度出发,本研究发现对自己人和外人的清晰区分是中国人开始及发展跨文化友谊最大的障碍。共同的经历是中国人判断是否能够结成朋友的主要依据。缘分的观念阻碍了中国人发展跨文化友谊。社区网络,含蓄的交流方式和对文化的认知度也是影响跨文化友谊形成的因素。本文还探讨了跨文化结成的朋友所采取的用来巩固他们之间关系的主要策略。除了日常接触之外,坦诚,提供帮助和积极性是最常使用的策略。从本土角度出发,本研究就影响第三种文化构建的关键因素做了总结。同时也讨论了这项研究的不足之处并提出了对将来此类研究的建议。
