二语习得和语言测试的接口 ——认知策略在外语学习和测试中的比较研究

二语习得和语言测试是应用语言学中发展最快,技术性最强的两个领域。长久以来,他们被看作两个独立的学科,拥有各自的会议和期刊。但是,从八十年代后期开始,越来越多的研究表明,两个学科在研究对象和研究方法上都有紧密的联系。随着认知科学和认知语言学的发展,认知策略研究吸引了越来越多二语习得和语言测试领域研究者的注意。本文从二语习得和语言测试的接口研究入手,回顾了国内外二语习得和语言测试关系的研究成果,并对学习策略和认知策略的定义和分类进行了论述。在此基础上,本文采用了实证研究的方法,旨在研究学习和测试过程中使用的认知策略间的关系。本研究选取了河北大学200名非英语专业学生作为调查对象。数据收集后,用社会学统计软件包分别对这些数据进行了内部一致性检验,描述性分析,T-检验,相关性分析和差异性分析。通过分析研究,得出以下结论:(1)在学习和测试过程中,“联想”是听力和阅读运用中使用频率最高的认知策略。应用频率最低的认知策略是“翻译”。使用频率从有时到经常,这说明受试者对认知策略的使用相对稳定,但处于中级水平。(2)相关性分析的结果表明,学习过程中使用的认知策略和测试过程中使用的有较强的相关关系,并且这些相关关系都十分显著。这说明学习中使用的认知策略很大程度上影响了它们在测试中的应用,反之亦然。(3)对学习和测试过程中使用认知策略的差异性研究表明,在听力过程中,除了“总结”,其他认知策略在测试中的应用频率均高于学习中的使用频率,但是,对应认知策略中“重新组织”、“翻译”和“总结”间差异不显著。在阅读过程中,“联想”、“猜词”、“真实再现”和“重新组织”在测试中的应用频率均高于学习中的频率,但总体来说,差异不显著。这说明相对于阅读测试和学习,认知策略在听力学习和测试中的频率高于学习中的频率,造成这种现象的原因可能是听力测试中的各种要求激发学生充分使用认知策略,从而在测试中达到最好的效果。
