论文摘要
近年来,我国高职高专教育发展迅速,在高等教育领域发挥着越来越重要的作用。高职高专英语教学的目标是培养学生的听、说、读、写、译等方面的综合语言技能,尤其是学生的实用交际技能。然而,我国的高职高专英语教育并不能完全满足这一要求。现在传统的教学方式和实现这一目标之间还存在着严重的冲突。传统的教学方式以教师为中心,以考试为目标,以语法词汇为主要教学内容。这与“实用为主”的要求相差甚远。社会对学生外语能力的需求要求我们要尽快改进高职高专英语教学。越来越多的老师已经在尝试其他不同的新的教学方法,但是结果并不令人特别满意。而整体教学法的提出改变了这一现状。预期将会对我国高职高专英语教学起到重要的推动作用。整体教学法以格式塔理论和整体论做为理论依据,认为总体大于部分之和。整体教学法不仅仅是各种教学法简单的叠加,它着重于学习者的综合学习技能的培养。该教学法强调师生的统一;各语言要素的统一;学习资料的统一;课内课外的统一;语言技能的统一。笔者在其任教的学校进行了教学实验。根据实验的结果得出:整体教学法确实具有传统教学法所不具有的优势:它加强了对学生语言技能的培养,给学习者提供更多的参与教学的机会,激发了其学习的积极性主动性。但是这一新的教学方法在具体的课堂实践中还存在一些局限与不足,需要更多的教师与专家投入其中,共同探讨,使之不断完善。
