不同视角下的优化选择 ——以陶渊明诗歌英译研究为例

论文摘要

翻译研究作为一门学科越来越受到学者们的广泛关注。而文学翻译本身所具有的特点和重要性引起广大翻译工作者的关注和热烈讨论，而在这当中，对于涛歌翻译的意见分歧最大。在中西翻译史上许多翻译家和学者发表了各种各样的观点。他们都从自己认可的某一个或几个角度定义诗歌，进而提出诗歌翻译的策略和标准。但是人们始终没有达成广为接受的一致意见。由于中英两种语言的巨大差异，中国古典诗歌英译的难度更大。由此国内外众多翻译家也是众说纷纭，提出各自的翻译理论和标准。本文通过分析，首先肯定了中诗英译的可能性。通过对中英两种语言特点及其诗歌的特点对比分析，同时比较国内外几位译者和翻译家的观点和主张，本文作者认为完美译文和翻译策略都是不存在的。译者必然会受诸如时间、地点、文本特点和预定读者等因素影响。例如，译者本身作为读者会在潜意识中为其译品选定读者，进而将原作的各种精髓划分重要性。因此他们的译本会从某一个或几个角度考虑，实现优化选择。因此，本文作者大胆提出最优化概念，即翻译工作应首先实现某一个或几个角度的最优化，在特定的时空范围内，使译本满足一定范围内的读者。本文作者把优化选择这一概念运用到分析陶渊明的几首诗歌的英译本中，得出每一个译本都有其特定的读者，在某一个角度达到最优化的结论，进而证明最优化理论是可行的。
