输入模式及学习任务对二语词汇附带习得的影响

20世纪80年代以来,词汇附带习得成为国内外研究的热点问题。本研究主要探讨输入模式及学习任务对中国中低水平英语学习者词汇附带习得的影响,同时也分析了学生英语水平对其产生的作用。本研究以山东科技大学泰山科技学院四个班的新生为样本,旨在探索书面及视听条件下,学生在完成不同投入量任务后词汇习得及保持情况。本研究选用一幕书面及视听版的《走遍美国》短剧为实验材料,根据受试学生所处的四种情形,将其分为四组:书面输入下判断对错练习;书面输入下复述故事练习;视听输入下判断对错练习及视听输入下复述故事练习。之后,学生接受8个相关目标词的即时测以及一周后的延时测试,并完成一份关于学生对词汇附带习得理解的调查问卷。本研究通过两项测试收集了学生对目标词的掌握情况,然后运用社科研究统计软件包(SPSS,17.0版本)对原始数据进行了处理和分析,得出了如下结论:(1)学生通过书面输入及视昕输入均能附带习得词汇,但是词汇的长期保持效果不佳。(2)从学习任务的影响来看,书面输入模式下,复述故事任务比判断对错任务对词汇的保持更为有效。而在视听模式下,任务的不同并没有造成词汇附带习得的显著差异。(3)输入模式对词汇附带习得的影响在不同学习任务条件下存在差异。判断对错学习任务条件下,书面输入比视听输入对词汇短期保持的影响更为显著,而对长期保持无显著影响;复述故事学习任务条件下,书面输入比视听输入对词汇长期及短期保持都具有明显的优势。(4)英语水平高确实有助于词汇附带习得,但其与英语水平低对词汇附带习得所产生的差异会受到输入模式及学习任务的共同作用。即时测试中,英语水平高的学生比英语水平低的学生在除“视听输入下判断对错练习”之外的学习活动环境下具有显著的优势。延时测试中,英语水平高的学生比英语水平低的学生只在“书面输入下复述故事练习”学习活动条件下,展示出明显的优势。另外,调查问卷与实验结果存在相互矛盾之处:虽然学生承认词汇附带习得对词汇扩大的贡献作用,但是他们对视听输入及投入量小的任务也表现出了充足的重视。最后,本研究列举出来其本身的局限性,为今后的研究确立了方向。
