A Correlation between Learning Styles and Vocabulary Learning Strategies

自从上世纪70年代二语习得步入新的阶段后,人们普遍认为学习策略和学习风格是二语习得的两个突出的变量。学习策略是指语言学习者为了取得好的学习效果和成绩而采取的各种技巧、方法或行为。而学习风格是指学习者在学习时的一种无意识的个体倾向。这两个变量在国内外经常被分开研究,然而关于他们之间的关系研究很少,尤其是以高中生为受试者的实证研究目前还没有人在这方面做过相关研究。此研究抽取120名枣庄八中的学生作为受试者,使用学习风格和词汇策略的两个调查问卷来调查研究他们的学习风格偏好,英语词汇学习策略偏好以及学习风格和词汇学习策略之间的关系。通过SPSS的分析得出数据,并用本研究的结果与大学生的学习风格和学习策略的偏好做了比较。本研究得出以下结论:第一,高中生偏好视觉型和分析型的学习风格。第二,与元认知策略和社会情感策略相比较,在学习词汇的过程中,高中生更偏向于元认知策略。第三,学习风格与学习策略之间有一定的联系,并且某些学习风格会影响对学习策略的选择。本研究也存在一些问题,例如受试者的人数不够多,调查问卷的题目数量过多,而且作者仅仅考虑了学习策略和学习风格对二语习得的影响而忽略了对其他影响因素的分析。这些问题也将成为作者今后研究的问题,并且希望本次研究的成果能对教师和学生提高他们词汇教学和学习的质量做出贡献。
