中国银行业海外扩张动因研究

随着经济全球化的发展,国际金融服务的作用越来越重要,而国际银行在国际金融服务中扮演着重要角色。国际金融服务的发展成集中化趋势,金融贸易正向国际大银行集中。面对不断变化的国际市场和不断发展成熟的国内金融市场,中国大银行从2006年底开始陆续收购海外金融机构,积极参与海外扩张。与此同时,中国政府努力促进金融体制改革并取得初步成效;各大银行相继完成股份制改革并在海内外成功上;根据中国2001年底加入WTO时做出的承诺,中国正逐步向外资全面开放其金融市场。本文就是在这样的背景下对中国银行业海外扩张的动因进行研究,根据实证研究的结果,为中国银行业今后的国际化发展以及更好地融入国际金融市场提供一些建议和意见。本文首先介绍了中国银行业发展的历史和现状,并总结了近期的主要海外扩张事件。随后讨论了基本概念的定义并回顾已有的银行国际化动因理论。本文根据已有的理论和实证研究结果,并结合中国实际特征,从三方面提出假设,对中国银行业海外扩张的动因进行研究:关于银行自身特征的假设,关于母国特征的假设以及关于母国和东道国之间的经济联系的假设。本文采用三个独立的回归模型对三类假设进行检验。根据实证检验的结果,银行发展规模,外资银行进入中国市场,与第三国间的双边贸易和非金融直接投资都与中国银行业海外扩张有显著的正相关关系。因此,中国银行业海外扩张是其自身发展的结果,是对外资银行大量进入引起国内市场激烈竞争的反应,是跟随本国顾客服务到海外市场的战略。中国银行业应避免盲目的扩张,合理利用在资本市场募得的资金,谨慎选择收购对象,利用与国外银行合作的机会,提升自己的盈利能力和风险管理能力,从而全面提高银行国际化竞争水平。
