论文摘要
近些年来,中国大学生在英语课堂上保持沉默是一个普遍的现象。以往的工作主要研究了导致学生在课堂上沉默的学生因素,但大都忽略了引起学生课堂沉默的教师因素。因此,本论文力求从学生和教师两个角度来分析造成学生课堂沉默的因素。通过课堂观察和采访一些学生和老师对引起学生课堂沉默的学生因素和教师因素有了初步的了解,在此基础上,对278位同学进行了问卷调查。研究结果表明,怕回答问题错了丢面子,英语基础差,课堂焦虑是影响学生课堂参与程度是主要的学生因素;而背景知识,对学生错误的容忍程度,教师提问的方式是影响学生课堂参与程度是主要的教师因素。本文还进一步讨论了学生因素和教师因素间的关系,根据这些结果,本论文为大学英语老师提出了一些具体的策略和建议使他们能够提高学生课堂参与的力度,从而改进大学英语教学。
