从标记对等看社会方言的翻译 ——《德伯家的苔丝》两个译本个案研究

论文摘要

本文在韩礼德等提出的语言变体理论框架下，结合标记理论和功能对等理论，通过《德伯家的苔丝》两个汉译本对比研究探讨社会方言的翻译。文章对哈代的《德伯家的苔丝》这一名著的两个汉译本进行个案研究。从功能对等角度出发，文学翻译不仅涉及到意思的传递还要求译者在译文中尽可能传递出原文的风格标记现象。于是从口语体、词汇、称谓、句子结构、预设、含义、人物社会地位和教育程度等标记对等参数值，对比分析两个译者在处理原著中方言尤其是社会方言所采用的策略：方言对等翻译和补偿翻译。通过对比分析，本文不是要说明哪个译本更适合、更正确或接受性更好，而是探索方言翻译尤其是社会方言翻译的一些基本原则。同时在上述分析论证的基础上，本文尝试性地进一步提出在方言翻译方面的一些拙见，希望能有一定的借鉴作用。
