论文摘要
短语动词是英语成语的重要类别,也是中国学生学习英语词汇的难点之一。本实证研究进行了一次有意义的尝试,考察了透明度与熟悉度对短语动词的接受与产出造成的影响,探究了短语动词的习得困难。实验受试为广东外语外贸大学英语专业一年级学生。实验内容分为三部分:问卷调查,前测,后测。问卷调查旨在测试受试对三类短语动词(表面义短语动词,比喻义短语动词,引申义短语动词)的熟悉程度。前测包括短语动词理解测试和动词知识测试,前者目的在于考察透明度与熟悉度对理解短语动词的影响;而后者旨在测试受试对短语动词对应的单个动词的掌握情况,为后测做准备。后测分为翻译与多项选择,比较受试在产出时对不同类型短语动词的回避情况。结果表明:熟悉度与透明度分别对短语动词的习得造成了影响。熟悉的短语动词都比不熟悉的短语动词理解得更为准确。在不熟悉的短语动词中,表面义短语动词较之比喻义和引申义短语动词更易理解;对于熟悉的短语动词,表面义短语动词比引申义短语动词更易理解,但与比喻义没有达到显著差异水平,说明熟悉度对比喻义短语动词的理解有显著影响。在产出上也存在差异:比喻义短语动词和引申义短语动词较之表面义短语动词更容易被回避。但熟悉度在产出上没有明显作用。实验说明,短语动词的语义透明程度是造成短语动词习得困难的主要原因。熟悉度也是影响因素,但对短语动词产出的效果并不明显。本文结合习语习得的认知理论,通过与前人的研究结果比较异同,对短语动词习得的理论有所贡献,为实证研究提供了进一步的支持,并对其教学提出了建议。
