文学书名的翻译是翻译实践中的一个重要领域,富有创造性又不失挑战,受到不少学者和翻译实践者的重视。他们多从语言、语篇、文化等角度来进行考察,分析对比不同翻译手段产生的效果。然而,从读者角度来探讨文学书名翻译的研究并不多见。20世纪60年代末期,以姚斯(Hans Robert Jauss)和伊瑟尔(Wrolfgang Iser)为杰出代表的康斯坦茨学派在阐释学的基础之上创立了接受美学理论,其理论核心为“读者中心论”。该理论以全新的观点,风靡了整个欧美文学界,并对整个文学乃至文学翻译领域都产生了独一无二的影响。由于接受美学与翻译研究之间有着一种本质的内在联系,并且作为对以往传统翻译“文本中心论”的颠覆,接受美学理论为翻译研究带来了诸多启示。本文旨在从接受美学的角度对文学书名的翻译进行研究。本文首先介绍文学书名的来源,功能,特点,并简要概括文学书名翻译存在的问题。接着比较系统的介绍接受美学理论主要思想,其影响和意义,归纳出接受美学对文学书名翻译的启示,指出译者在翻译过程中,要以读者为中心,充分考虑译文读者的期待视野、审美体验和接受能力。最后论文构建了一个基于接受美学理论的文学书名翻译框架,文学书名译名要尽可能的传递原名的文化内涵,实现原名的审美再现,从而使译文读者获得原文美学价值及文化探索的享受。同时,由于读者期待视野,审美情趣的变化,文学作品译名也有所不同。文章从历时角度阐述了文学作品译名的时代特色,并比较分析了不同时代同一文学作品书名翻译的方法和策略。优秀的文学书名译名要使译文读者获得原文美学价值的享受及文化探索的享受。因此译者在翻译过程中,要以读者为中心,充分考虑译文读者的期待视野、审美体验和接受能力,灵活运用翻译方法和策略,尽可能保留原名的文化内涵,实现原名的审美再现。同时,对文学书名翻译的评价,应动态的研究其历史,文化背景,译文读者的期待视野,以及译者翻译策略选择的原因,这样,我们的研究才能比较客观和全面。
