“搭配”这一个概念最早由弗斯于上世纪50年代提出的。近年来,在英语词汇教学中,语言的搭配知识与习惯运用逐渐受到语言学家和语言教师的广泛关注。研究表明,搭配能力在很大程度上影响着外语学习者语言的理解和表达等方面。 本研究采用语料库证据支持的中介语对比的方法,重点考察了中国学生使用三个形容词great,big,large的“形容词-名词”搭配的特征。通过对《中国英语学习者语料库》及子库St3,St6和本族语语料库ECNS(English corpus of native speakers)如COBUILD中这三个形容词搭配的比较,从使用数量、使用的恰当性和典型性等方面揭示了中国大学生英语学习者使用“形容词+名词”搭配的明显特点。 该研究表明,与本族语者对great,big,large的使用情况对比,中国英语学习者倾向于过多使用great和large形容词搭配。但使用的形容词搭配类型少,就搭配的典型性而言,与本族语者共同使用的形容词搭配少,其T值和MI值也存在差异。通过对St3和St6这几个形容词搭配使用情况的对比分析,尽管St6的学习者比St3学习者有所进步,但进步的程度并不明显。总体来看,中国学习者的形容词搭配能力较弱,有待提高。 本研究对以这三个形容词为代表的形容词—名词搭配的调查情况表明,在搭配的习得过程中存在一系列的影响因素,如学习策略中母语的干扰,反复使用等。作者认为,搭配在英语词汇教学中应得到足够的重视及有效的处理并尝试提出了一些教学建议。
