本文运用了基于语料库的方法,以中介语理论,对比分析理论和错误分析理论为基础,以《大学英语教学大纲词汇表》为参照,对CLEC的子语料库ST4和BROWN两个语料库进行对比从而分析中国英语学习者和英语本族语者使用高频动词make的情况,旨在找出中国英语学习者和英语本族语者在使用高频动词make及其短语时的相似之处和不同之处,检验中国英语学习者是否完全掌握了教学大纲词汇表中所要求的make义项和短语,并且对修订英语教学大纲词汇表给出一些建议。本文还对中国英语学习者使用maKe时所出现的错误进行了描述和分析。研究表明:总的来说,和英语本族语者相比,中国英语学习者倾向于过多的使用动词make,然而他们却又倾向于过少的使用make短语。具体来说,中国英语学习者没有完全掌握大学英语教学大纲词汇表里所要求掌握的9个make义项和9个make短语。中国英语学习者和英语本族语者在使用make和make短语时有很大的不同。英语本族语者经常使用的一些义项和短语却反而很少或者几乎不被中国英语学习者用到,有些也没有被列入英语教学大纲词汇表。中国英语学习者使用较为单一的make短语,而英语本族语者使用丰富的make短语。基于以上发现,作者对《大学英语教学大纲词汇表》的修订提出了一些建议。另外,中国英语学习者所出现的make错误中,既有语际错误又有语内错误,其中语内错误更多一些。作者对ST4中130个make错误进行了分类并对错误源进行了分析,结果显示母语负迁移和过度泛化是make错误的主要来源。总的来说,母语的负迁移,过度泛化,无视规则限制,对规则的不完全运用和错误观念假想都是make错误的来源。
