论文摘要: 新闻翻译从传播学角度看有别于一般形式上的翻译。为达到理想的传播效果，新闻翻译致力在内容、语言及表达形式方面为目的语读者提供一种他们易于接受并迅速理解的译文。在新闻翻译的过程中，译者对原文进行了大量的增加、删除甚至重组等大幅度地改动，从严格的意义上讲，这种翻译只能称为“编译”，译者也已非原文“忠实”的传播者。新闻英译本中不“信”的现象普遍存在，似乎有悖传统译论中“信”的标准，对这一现象，相关的功能对等翻译理论则能够为之提供有力的理论依据。本文针对英语新闻及中英文受众各自不同的特点，结合实例对编译过程中出现的交流障碍进行了探讨，并对其相应的解决办法进行了分析。
