论文摘要
翻译行为是人类最基本的交流活动之一,在这个过程中,译者无疑发挥着不可替代的作用。传统的翻译理论着重于语言层面的转换分析,将“忠实”放在第一位,几乎完全忽视了翻译活动中译者的重要作用。随着翻译研究的深入,译者的地位突显,作为一种文学批评理论,接受美学十分强调读者的能动性。在翻译的过程中,译者不仅是原文的读者,还是译本的作者和创造者。只有通过译者创造性的活动,译本才能完成。通过对《德伯家的苔丝》的两个汉译本的对比研究,本论文从接受美学的角度分析了译者在翻译过程中所发挥的不可替代的能动作用,研究发现,译者的作用视角是解读《德伯家的苔丝》的译本的有效途径,可以为翻译批评多元化提供有益的启示。本论文共分五章。第一章、第二章简单介绍了研究现状和文献综述,第三章回顾了翻译及译者在传统译论中的地位和现状。第四章为本文的主体部分。在接受美学的理论框架下,主要从三个方面描述和解释两个译本的差异,即两个译者对《德伯家的苔丝》中的人物和主题的不同解读,两个译者采用的不同的翻译策略,以及译者在解读原文中的语音层面、词汇层,修辞层以及典故层面上所表现出的创造性。同时,译者的读者意识也会在处理原文中的空白和不定点上有所反映。最后,笔者讨论了接受理论在翻译批评中的局限性。第五章是结论部分,虽然译者的作用受社会大环境的影响,但他仍有自己的创造空间。
