从译者主体性看中国古典小说《红楼梦》的翻译

论文摘要

翻译是一项复杂的交际活动。在将异国文学精华用译入语介绍给读者的翻译过程中,译者起着不可替代的重要作用。译者运用语际间的语码转换,将原语文本中的内容再生成译语文本,使之开拓译语读者的视野,丰富了译语读者的语言文化知识。译者作为翻译的主体性地位已得到广泛认可。然而,译者的创造性角色在翻译研究的初始阶段并没有受到重视。相反,这个认识经历了漫长的过程。二十世纪七十年代以来,随着翻译研究文化转向,译者在翻译研究中的主体地位被重新确立。 鉴于对哲学阐释学中的理解的历史性,偏见观和视域融合等相关概念的理解,本文论证了译者主体性概念及其在翻译过程中的运用,并以古典小说《红楼梦》两个译本——霍克司译本和杨宪益译本为例证,旨在论述理解的历史性形成了不同历史时期的不同译本的目的性翻译,偏见观的存在说明翻译并不是原语文本的复制,而译者的视域与原作视域的不完全融合使译者的创造性翻译不可避免。在翻译过程中的译者主体性应受到重视,这将有益于翻译研究的整体发展。
