公示语汉英翻译中最佳关联的实现

论文摘要

公示语是对外宣传的一种,是宣传中国政治,经济,文化形象一个重要而有效的手段,它关系到中国是否能如其所愿宣传自己的形象。然而,由于文化,意识形态和社会制度的不同,翻译不妥会导致中文的文本无法被西方接受。这种误译常常是由于忽视了中西方的差异,特别是文化差异以及外语的习惯表达。忽视差异导致双方的误解,也无法有效的宣传中国的文化和形象。在公示语翻译中,译员是一个双向的交际者。一方面,译员必须完全理解源语文本的语言,语境和文化,及其交际意图。另一方面,译员必须决定如何在源语文本和目的语文化的框架下把源语文本的交际意图传达给目的语读者。作者在关联理论的框架下通过研究公示语翻译中的错误发现,要以最小的努力达到最佳关联,译者必须具备双文化与双语知识,只有这样,译者才能从源文本中正确推理并把交际意图传达给目的语读者。无疑译者必须精通源语和目的语,为了达到最佳关联,译者可采取以下策略:直译,重构,意象的跨文化转移,明晰化以及借用。
