基于理想认知模式的词汇翻译研究及其教学启示

词汇是语言的基础,翻译是交流的工具。随着我国的改革开放进程及英语作为国际语言的地位,进行英汉词汇翻译的研究具有重要的意义。本文通过对语言学家关于英汉词汇翻译研究的文献考察,把相关研究大致分为如下六种：语文学翻译观下的英汉/汉英词汇翻译、结构主义翻译观下的英汉/汉英词汇翻译、解构主义翻译观下的英汉/汉英词汇翻译、建构主义翻译观下的英汉/汉英词汇翻译、功能主义翻译观下的英汉/汉英词汇翻译、认知语言学翻译观下的英汉/汉英词汇翻译。本文探讨了以住的研究内容或多或少存在的不足,在吸取前人的研究基础上,提出了以认知语言学为背景,从理想化认知模式这一角度出发,对英汉/汉英词汇翻译进行考察,试图实现以下三个研究目的：(1)探讨理想认知模式与英汉/汉英词汇翻译的关系(2)探讨理想认知模式在英汉/汉英词汇翻译中对词义分析具有的优势(3)探讨基于理想认知模式的词汇翻译教学应该采取的策略。认知语言学认为,语言中的词是基于人们对客观世界的体验而形成的一种概念,储存在人类大脑中,其外部表现为语言中的词。它不是简单的音义任意结合的语言符号,而是有认知基础的。理想认知模式是人们在认识事物与理解现实世界过程中对某领域的经验和知识所形成的抽象的、统一的、理想化的组织和表征结构。它是已储存于人们头脑中、为人们所广泛接受的、常规性的认知模式。理想化认知模式对词义的分析比传统的词义分析理解具有明显的优势。认知语言学同时认为,词汇翻译是一种复杂的心理过程,它是对语言的加工过程。而思维的载体是语言,也就是说,翻译活动必须以人的思维活动为基础,人的思维方式和思维活动是建立在对客观事物的体验基础之上的。所以,对客观事物的体验是影响词汇翻译的因素之一。这种体验观便是认知语言学的核心观点之一。在本文中,体验性对词汇翻译的影响可以体现在理想认知模式的构建原则上,如命题结构、意象图式结构、隐喻映射和转喻映射等。然而,除了ICM四个基本构建原则,不同的民族有不同的文化模式,这也会影响到英汉词汇翻译,会给词汇在英汉语言中的转化带来问题。由于传统翻译教学存在不足,本文基于认知语言学的理论,结合理想认知模式与英汉词汇翻译,给英汉词汇翻译教学提出几个建议,希望能为我国高校翻译课堂的改善做出一点贡献。
