长期以来,在中国的英语教学环境中,口语一直未受到足够的重视;对中国学生而言,口语始终是语言学习中一个较为薄弱的环节。随着中国对外交流的日益频繁,社会对非英语专业人才的英语口语水平提出了更高的要求。《大学英语课程教学要求》也明确指出“大学英语的教学目标是培养学生英语综合应用能力,特别是听说能力”。学习者个体差异是影响教学活动和教学效果的一个重要因素,已成为第二语言习得研究的核心。其中学习风格和学习策略作为这一领域的重要内容,受到越来越多的重视。本文拟从学习者个体差异入手,试图探讨学习风格、学习策略和英语口语水平之间的关系,以期为提高非英语专业学生的口语能力有所启发。本文以65名非英语专业二年级的大学生为被试,对其学习风格、学习策略和口语水平之间的相关关系进行了初步研究。测试的工具包括PLSP问卷,学习策略问卷(根据SILL问卷和文秋芳的理论设计)和英语四六级口试成绩。经过社会科学统计包的分析,研究结果表明学习风格和学习策略皆对英语口语水平有一定的相关性,学习风格在一定程度上影响着学习策略的选择。因此,为了提高学生的口语水平,一方面,教师应该了解学习者的个体差异,调整自己的教学风格以适应学习者的学习风格,培养学生学习风格的灵活性以适应不同的学习任务,同时及时引导学生正确、有效地选择和适应口语学习策略;另一方面,学生在教师的指导下认识和丰富自己的学习风格,学习使用多样化的学习策略,抓住并创造多种机会锻炼自己的口语能力。总之,本研究有助于提高对学习风格和学习策略的重视度,希望能够丰富个体差异研究的内容,为当前的英语口语教学活动带来一些启发。
