不礼貌话语反应的研究 ——以莎士比亚的“哈姆雷特”为例

不礼貌现象在交际中是很普通的现象,甚至在某些语篇中不礼貌现象更为突出。直到20世纪七八年代,此现象才引起国外学者的关注。本文试图从会话分析的基础上对不礼貌话语的反应进行研究,并从不同的方面探讨不同反应类型的动机。Tsui的会话结构框架表明反应包括积极反应、消极反应。其中积极反应指听话人支持说话人的语用假设;消极反应指听说人挑战说话人的语用假设。Goffman认为在会话结构中,社会准则和个人意识形态影响话轮转换,也就是说这些因素能影响反应。本文选用了莎士比亚的“哈姆雷特”作为语料。莎士比亚的戏剧语言生动而丰富,是世界文学经典,有其研究价值。“哈姆雷特”是莎士比亚四大悲剧之一,其中不礼貌话语多。为了确保理解的正确,本文选用了梁实秋的译文。本文从是否接受面子攻击的角度,把反应分为接受和反抗两种类型。反抗又可进一步分为冒犯性反抗和防卫性反抗。通过语料分析,接受包括同意,道歉,承诺三种具体策略;防卫性反抗包括解释、转移话题、忽视面子攻击三种策略;冒犯性反抗包括打断、讽刺、嘲笑、指责四种策略。作者进一步从功能、权势和心理状态的角度阐释这些不同反应类型的动机。功能方面,作者从情感宣泄功能和身份确认功能两方面进行阐释。情感宣泄功能指当人们受到伤害或面子受到攻击时,通过特定的话语宣泄或释放他们的情感;身份确认功能指每个人的身份包括个人特点、社会角色、社会角色关系三方面,人们通过特定的话语来确定其个人身份。本文为不礼貌研究提供一个新视角。不礼貌话语的反应受很多因素的影响,如语境、性别、权势、心理状态等。听话者能在合适的时间做出合适的反应,那么就能避免不必要的冲突。这也能使人类的学习、工作、生活更轻松、更和谐。
