本研究的目的是通过实验研究来验证词块教学是否能提高农村学生的英语听力水平。听力理解在语言交际和获得新知识、新信息等方面起着极其重要的作用。但是许多高中学生的英语听力水平,特别是农村学生的英语听力水平,还是不尽人意。为了解决这个问题,我们有必要对听力教学的方法进行探索。本文作者提出以词块教学来提高学生的听力水平的假设。在对农村中学的学习和教学情况有了深刻的认识之后,本文作者通过问卷调查证明;学生们已经意识到词块对学习有利,但是大部分老师并不重视词块的教学。为了证明上述的假设,作者实施了一次实验,对词块在农村高中学生听力教学中的有效性进行了研究。总共有94名来自莆田科技学校(11)班和(12)班的学生参加了实验。实验采用交叉实验法,即在第一次实验中,做听力测试Ⅰ前,(11)班教词块,(12)班教单个单词;然后在第二次实验中,做听力测试Ⅱ前,(11)班教单个单词,(12)班教词块。结果证明了上述假设是正确的,同时也显示了词块教学有助于提高学生的英语听力水平。
