翻译中的话语霸权分析

翻译一直以来就是跨文化交流的重要工具。然而,由于不同文化、政治、经济发展的不平衡,使得各国之间产生了地位上的差异和不平等的国际关系。不平等的状况也出现在国家之间的翻译交流中。霸权文化,尤其是英美文化成为了翻译输出的主要来源。而与此同时弱势国家则相对较少。国际交流中这种话语霸权显得日益显著。一方面,弱势国家从翻译作品中收益很多,例如,科技、学术研究。但另一方面,霸权文化在弱势国家中的地位也不断扩张,这种扩张使得弱势国家越来越受到排挤从而被同化,这直接导致弱势国家陷入危险的境地。显然,霸权国家的主导地位不利于全世界的和谐和共同繁荣。随着20世纪翻译研究文化转向的兴起,近些年来翻译研究又有了新的进展,即权力转向。本文首先介绍并分析了福柯独辟蹊径的权力话语理论,进而引入后殖民主义理论,从译者、文本等角度次第分析了话语霸权在翻译活动中的轨迹,同时,以韦努蒂的翻译理论作为辅助,分析了话语霸权对于翻译活动的影响。在此基础之上,本文作者进行了个案分析和数据分析,从新闻翻译方面探讨了话语霸权在翻译实践中的控制功能,阐释了翻译如何在权力操纵下服务于不同的利益团体,在话语的矛盾、冲突和碰撞中充分地展示了文化意识形态的壁垒和迥异的社会潜在规则。最后,本文提出了几点抵制话语霸权的翻译策略,并从翻译人员自身入手,以提高民族意识为己任,为解决话语霸权问题提供了一些实践方法。
