论古典汉诗文化意象的翻译 ——一种接受理论的视角

论文摘要

古典汉诗是中华民族的文学精华。文化意象是中国古典诗歌中独具特色的语言文化现象,它蕴含了丰富的文化内涵,是诗歌解读和翻译的关键,如何正确翻译文化意象并使之容易为英语读者接受成为古汉诗英译研究的难点之一。以往意象翻译研究主要侧重于原文文本,很少涉及读者的接受。意象翻译中有一个热点问题尚未解决,即译象(翻译物象)与译意(翻译其意)的矛盾。本文认为,采用接受理论,将有助于解决这个问题。接受理论强调读者的中心地位,把接受理论引入到翻译理论中,就体现了译者要根据译文读者的接受来灵活选择相应的翻译策略,接受理论为文化意象翻译提供了新的视角。本文从英语读者接受的角度出发,以古典汉诗不同译本为例对比分析、探讨了古典汉诗文化意象的英译。本文共分五章:前言阐明本论文的研究目的、意义和方法。第二章是文献综述。作者回顾了中国传统文论和英美意象派对意象概念的论述;综述了中外学者对意象翻译的研究概况:指出现有研究有待解决的课题以及本文所采用的研究视角。第三章介绍接受理论的兴起、其核心思想及其对翻译的启示。第四章是本文的核心部分。描述了中英读者期待视野中的意象;译象与译意的矛盾;从读者接受的角度出发提出译象和译意之争的解决办法:译者应尽力传递形象,满足读者的创新期待,同时要考虑读者的既定期待,采取加注或增补的办法,如果物象和涵义不能同时传递到译文中,译者应考虑读者的接受能力,舍象保意。在结论部分,作者对主要问题做了小结,并指出本项研究的局限性和有待进一步研究的问题。
