本文研究的是汉语语言迷信现象中的语言崇拜和语言禁忌。从语用学的角度为切入点,对这种语言现象进行了重新的定义和划分。在日常生活中,人们有时会听到这样的话或看到这样的标语,如,“一言兴邦,一言丧邦”,“白日勿谈人,谈人则害生;昏夜勿说鬼,说鬼则鬼至。”,“祸从嘴吐,病从嘴入”,“说破不准,道破不灵”。此类表达存在于汉语中,而且很有特点。可见中国人在总是会有意无意的相信语言具有“做某事”的魔力。这种现象不但在心理上存在,而且常常会反映在语言上。这一现象的背后有着深刻的社会、心理、文化等根源。本文选择语言禁忌作为研究对象,以此让我们对语言迷信现象又一个清晰和深刻的了解。本文从语用学的角度分析了社交言语中的语言迷信现象,以便更好的了解汉语语言迷信现象。一般来说,我们把语言迷信看作是一种文字崇拜形式。在本文中主要研究的是语言崇拜和语言禁忌,这两者之间是一对矛盾的范畴,互为存在的前提,在一定的条件下相互转化。在本文中,语言崇拜主要表现在人们对咒语作用的相信;而禁忌语则是语言禁忌的主要表现形式,指那些含有不吉利的,人们避而不说的用语。尽管在某种程度上而言,语言迷信是反科学的,但时至今日它依然存在于人们的社交语言中,起着一定的作用。这也是本文为什么要选择语言迷信作为研究的对象,希望能够发现这一语言现象背后的真正原因。就研究方法而言,本文属于基于语料的定性研究,并以Jef Vershueren的语言顺应论为理论框架,解释了语言迷信的顺应性及其功能。本文的研究表明语言迷信在交际中的使用,是为了顺应各种语境因素:1)顺应说话人所处的时间、空间和语言环境。2)顺应说话人所处的社会环境,在这里社会规约、文化习俗和宗教都制约着说话人的“语言选择”。3)顺应说话人的心理动机也是语言迷信产生的一个主要原因。通过本文的研究,我们发现,语言顺应理论可以成功地从语用学的角度解释语言迷信现象,并且对语言迷信现象的分类和语用功能的划分使我们对这一现象有了一个更加完整和清晰的理解。
