中国古典诗歌英译中的认知语境研究

论文摘要

语境在交际过程中起到非常重要的作用,它包含交际过程中许多外部因素,如说话者的职业、年龄、知识水平等,对理解和表达话语很有帮助。斯珀伯和威尔森在《关联性:交际与认知》一书中提出了有别于传统意义的语境观:认知语境。认知语境被看成是一个心理结构体,在交际过程中关注交际者的内部心理。作为一种语言交际活动,中国古典诗歌英译与认知语境联系紧密。诗歌翻译的过程涉及到三个交际者:原文诗人,译者,以及译文读者。为了准确地将中国古典诗歌翻译成英语,译者需要研究原文诗人的认知语境—弄清原文所要表达的意思;还要研究英语读者的认知语境—确保译文读者能够理解译文。将认知语境应用到中国古典诗歌英译中能够使我们看清楚诗歌翻译的本质。翻译过程中有三个认知因素对翻译产生影响:汉语读者的认知语境影响汉语诗人;汉语的编码模式影响译者;英语读者的认知语境影响译者。认知语境在诗歌翻译过程中起到三个作用:揭示内涵,挖掘文化,加强理解。在认知语境下进行诗歌翻译可以使译者更加注重对原文诗人和译文读者的认知语境进行研究。这样的分析可以作为检验译文质量的一项重要标准。本文共有六章第一章是本文的简介,包括三个方面内容:本文的研究背景,研究问题以及重要意义。第二章是国内外语境研究综述。第三章是本文的理论框架和研究方法:以关联理论为理论框架;以比较研究和对比研究为主要研究方法。第四章对中国古典诗歌的主要特点进行讨论,以及在翻译诗歌中意、声、形的主要难点。第五章是全文的重点。首先讨论了诗歌翻译过程中的三个认知影响因素。其次讨论了认知语境在中国古典诗歌英译中的三个作用。最后,通过对《山中送别》的原文和两个译本的对比分析突出了认知语境在原文理解和译文产生中的重要性。第六章为结论部分。
