间接言语行为理论在大学英语听力教学中的应用

论文摘要

听是人们重要的交流手段,是接受语言知识和获取其他各种信息的主要渠道。在大学英语教学中,学生听力理解能力的培养已越来越凸显其重要性。然而,现阶段的听力教学并没有完全脱离传统的教学模式,听力教学效果并不十分理想。面对这些问题,笔者认为当前值得我们深入探讨的就是如何有效地提高学生的听力理解能力,以培养学生的语用能力。语用学作为研究在特定情境中的特定话语,特别是研究在不同的语言交际环境下如何理解和运用语言的学科,与英语教学有着不可分割的联系。塞尔的间接言语行为理论是语用学的重要内容之一,主要研究句子的言外之意现象。在现实交际中,出于某种原因,人们往往会间接地表达自己的真实想法或者意图,即言外之意,而这也正是间接言语行为理论与听力教学的结合点所在。为了提高学生对间接言语行为的理解,笔者认为在大学英语听力教学中引入一些语用学知识是必不可少的。本文通过实证研究,探索将间接言语行为理论应用于大学英语听力教学的可行性,试图探寻一种有效的听力教学方法,培养学生对听力理解中言外之意的推导策略与能力,以期实现对非英语专业学生英语听力理解能力的培养,达到全面提高学生英语综合能力的目的。本文从论述听力理解及大学英语听力教学现状入手,在系统地介绍塞尔的间接言语行为理论、Leech的礼貌原则以及语用推理理论的基础上阐述了间接言语行为在听力教学中的重要性。基于间接言语行为理论,笔者做了相关的实证研究。研究结果表明:将间接言语行为理论应用于大学英语听力教学是可行的。最后,笔者就如何培养学生的语用能力、提高大学英语听力教学效率提出了一些建议。本文力图突破当前听力教学方法研究的局限性,希望对今后进一步的研究起到抛砖引玉的作用。
