从话语系统角度解读戏剧《毛猿》

《毛猿》,堪称为美国戏剧之父尤金·奥尼尔的力作,是一部表现主义的代表作。尤金·奥尼尔是诺贝尔文学奖获得者,他也曾四次获得了普利策奖。这本戏剧凝聚了表现主义的技巧和手法,在文学研究方面广受欢迎。独辟蹊径,本文借助美国语言学家斯科隆夫妇提出的话语系统重新解读戏剧《毛猿》。戏剧《毛猿》主要讲述了一位小人物在金钱至上的资本主义社会寻找自我身份认同的过程。这位小人物就是本剧的主人公杨克,他的心理变化过程是贯穿剧本的主线。杨克是一位处在社会底层的司炉工,从开始的乐天知命、盲目乐观到受到船主女儿米尔德里德的挖苦、羞辱之后开始立志报仇雪恨,投身到寻求自我身份的过程中,最后以死于大猩猩的拥抱之中为结局,他也最终认识到自己在这个残酷社会中的可悲地位。本文总体分为五章。第一章简单介绍了本文的写作目的、写作意义和文章结构。第二章大体回顾了国内外学者如何从语言学角度研究戏剧和作品《毛猿》。第三章详细地介绍了本文使用的理论框架,包括：戏剧理论,戏剧话语以及话语系统的四个构成要素：意识形态、社会化、面子系统和话语模式。第四章是本文的主体,大体上分为三个部分：第一部分着重介绍了《毛猿》的作者尤金·奥尼尔和他的写作特点,第二部分是对戏剧《毛猿》的背景知识和主要故事情节的简要介绍,第三部分就是从语篇系统的四个要素方面详细分析和解读戏剧《毛猿》,试图挖掘出作品的主题、寓意、冲突和人物之间的关系。最后一章是对全文的总结。本文是从话语系统角度分析戏剧的一个尝试,希望对从话语系统角度解读和欣赏戏剧作品有所启示。
