新课标下初中英语词汇学习策略研究

词汇在英语学习中起着重要的基础作用。没有词汇,交际根本不可能发生。一个词汇匮乏的语言学习者也许发现要想准确地理解他人的说法和正确地表达自己的想法并不是件容易的事。然而英语词汇学习一直是中国学习者的一道难关。外语教学研究表明充分有效的词汇学习策略能够促进词汇学习。学习者的词汇知识对于提高阅读能力,培养听力理解能力也起着重要的作用。因此对英语教师来说帮助学生选择有效的词汇学习策略是非常有必要的。自九十年代以来中外很多学者开始从事词汇学习策略的研究。但是这些研究大多针对研究生和本科生的词汇学习,对初中生词汇学习策略的研究却很少。为了真正了解初中学生词汇学习现状,帮助学生采取有效的学习策略,提高词汇学习效果,笔者对初中生的词汇学习策略进行了调查研究。本研究选取176名初中生作为被调查对象,主要采用问卷调查和访谈的方式。这些学生主要来自沂南县的三所初级中学。调查结果表明(1)被调查对象认为词汇学习是项单调机械的活动,费时多收效小,他们很少体会到词汇学习的快乐。在词汇学习中他们一般选用认知策略和记忆策略。在这六种学习策略(包括记忆策略、认知策略、元认知策略、社会策略、补偿策略和情感策略)中,调查结果显示认知策略使用率最高,而元认知策略使用率最低。(2)初中学生使用的学习策略很单一,有些策略尽管有用,却很少被使用,如猜词策略、联想策略等被使用的不多,所以学习效率并不高。这与学习策略的正确使用有很大关系。综上所述,在英语学习过程中帮助学生选择有效的学习策略并进行适当的训练是非常有必要的。希望本研究为今后进一步研究提供些借鉴,初衷就算达到了。
