基于语料库的大学英语教材中因果连接词的研究

论文摘要

近年来,语言学研究的重点逐渐从句子转移到语篇的层面上。根据韩礼德的衔接理论,连接词表达语篇命题之间的逻辑关系,由此读者能有效地把握文中复杂的逻辑关系,并且能预测文章的结构脉络,推测作者的态度意图。所以,连接词在英语学习中十分重要。教科书作为知识获得的正式的渠道,当然不应该忽视这一重要的语篇表达途径的培养和训练。所以,笔者试图调研现今的大学英语课本在连接词这方面的运用状况。由于时间和篇幅的关系,笔者仅对因果连接词在两种被普遍采用的教材《大学英语》和《21世纪大学英语》的精读课文中的使用状况进行分析。本文对两套教材中因果连接词的使用进行了定量和定性研究,并将其与英语本族语语料库及中国学习者语料库进行对比分析,针对以下三个问题进行了讨论:大学英语教材在语篇连接词方面做得如何?两套教材在因果连接词的使用广度上是否与本族语使用者相同?与本族语语料库及中国学习者语料库相比,两套教材在因果连接词的使用上各有什么特点?本研究分析了两套大学英语教材中因果连接词的使用状况,并对英语教学和学习提出一些建议,希望可以进一步提高教师和学习者对因果连接词的重视和理解。本论文共分为四章。第一章是前言,介绍了研究的背景、意义、目的以及方法;第二章从理论上阐述了不同的语言学家及学者的相关研究;第三章就两套大学英语教材因果连接词的使用进行了定性及定量的分析,并与之在不同的语料库中的使用进行了比较研究;第四章是结论。
