论文摘要
语言的象似性和任意性问题一直是语言学界争论不休的问题之一。一些认为语言具有象似性的学者的理据就在于语言中存在声音象征的现象即声音与意义间存在某种关联。这种联系往往在诗歌中表现得最为明显。本文通过所提出的一个模式,系统的考察英文诗歌中声音层面上的象似性问题既英文诗歌中的声音是如何与诗歌的意义相联系的。本文认为,英语中诗歌的音与义之间的联系是系统化的并且是可以描述的。本文所提出的模式,与以往的模式相比,更能透彻和系统的对这种联系进行描述。以往所提出的一些描绘诗歌中音与义相关联的模式(如Hrushovski,1980;Leech,1969;Wellek & Warren 1966;Hinton et al,1994等)或多或少的忽略了声音中质与量之分,有的更是把声音的音响特征与发音特征混为一谈。本文则对诗歌声音作了较具体的分类,并通过具体的例证对每一种分类进行阐述从而系统化的建立起诗歌中声音与意义的关联。同时,本文基于对诗歌语音的研究提出了在诗歌翻译中追求“音义关联对等”(Phonosemantic Equivalence)的概念即在翻译中追求原文与译文在声音对意义的影响力上的等效。
