论文摘要
翻译是把一种语言所承载的文化用另一种语言再现出来,借助语言在两种不同文化之间进行的动态的交际活动。语言与文化是密不可分的:语言是文化的载体,而文化是语言得以生存和发展的土壤。因此翻译也是一种跨语言、跨社会的特殊文化活动。图式是存储在大脑中的背景知识结构,图式理论充分解释了人们如何利用先验背景知识进行信息加工而完成理解目的,此理论也为英汉翻译研究提供理论基础。文化图式是关于文化的背景知识,是近年来在中国翻译研究中兴起的研究方向。本文将与语言密不可分的广为存在的文化现象抽象概括到文化图式的理论高度,对其概念、分类等进行详细描述并探讨其对英汉翻译的影响提出相应翻译策略,旨在为推动跨文化交际提供些许理论和实践的依据。通过研究我们发现,从文化图式的角度去研究英汉翻译不同于传统翻译模式。翻译不再是单纯的解码与编码的总和。而是一个复杂的文化图式的转换过程:译者首先要激活自身的原语文化图式以帮助对原文的理解,然后在译文中重构原文信息,使译文能够有利于激活译文读者的文化图式,从而达到交流的目的。因此尽可能多的储存文化背景知识并充分激活内化在译者大脑中的文化图式,会使翻译理解更快更准确。本文还探讨了文化图式这一概念在翻译教学过程中的应用,进而得出在翻译教学中应注重学生文化背景知识的积累和文化图式的建立,切实提高译者的翻译能力。
