文化背景知识对高中英语阅读的影响

论文摘要

中学英语新教材的突出特点之一是强调学生的跨文化差异意识,而其有效途径之一则是通过把英语语言与文化融为一体的阅读教学。中学英语阅读教学必须同目的语国家的文化结合起来,不应该把语言和文化割裂开,这是语言学习的本质属性。在基础教学阶段,教师在课堂教学中要加强文化导入的自觉性、计划性和系统性,让中学生初步接触和了解英美等国的文化将有利于学生对英语阅读的正确理解,培养学生运用英语文化图式与阅读文本进行交际的能力。依据文化语言学理论及文化图式理论,本文提出以下研究假设:通过阅读课文中文化内容的融入,学生初步接触和了解英美等国的文化背景、风俗习惯、思维方式及价值观念等,有益于学生阅读理解能力的提高。在阅读课中导入文化内容并在教学中尝试鼓励学生个人参与学习文化活动,让学生自觉成为整个教学活动的重要组成部分。文化融入的最终目的是:学生能根据所读内容的具体语言环境及文化背景正确理解文章,从而更有效地提高学生的语言理解能力特别是阅读能力。本文共分为五章:第一章:引言部分对所研究的问题进行了总体的描述,指出本研究的现实意义及必要性。第二章:文献回顾部分。具体阐述语言和文化的定义以及二者之间的关系;论述什么是阅读及相关的阅读模式.第三章:实验部分。提出假设,阐述实验对象、实验材料、实验步骤和数据收集及分析。第四章:实验结果分析和讨论部分。根据对实验结果的分析,从教师、学生及教学实践方面进行讨论。第五章:结论部分对全文作简要总结及对未来的研究提出建议。
