目的论指导下的汉语硬新闻英译

论文摘要

硬新闻及其翻译在新闻全球传播中扮演着极其重要的角色。汉斯·费米尔提出的目的论为硬新闻翻译的实践和研究提供了一个有力的工具。他所说的目的是指某个译文或者翻译行为的目的。目的论认为,决定翻译过程的最主要因素是整体翻译行为的目的;为了达到某个特定的目的,译者采用的翻译方法会随之调整;只要达到该次翻译活动目的的翻译就是适当的翻译。本文在前人研究的基础上,针对硬新闻这一文本类型,借助目的论为理论支持,采用描述总结,文本分析和问卷调查统计的方法,对汉语硬新闻英译进行了系统,详细,客观的分析。本文针对提出的两个研究问题,即现行汉语硬新闻英译翻译过程及其主要方法和技巧;读者对目的论指导下汉语硬新闻英译满意与否,对目的论指导下汉语硬新闻英译翻译策略的运用有哪些意见和建议做了深入讨论,并得出初步结论如下:本文认为在翻译过程中,译者应考虑和保持硬新闻特殊的倒金字塔结构及其它基本特征以便利读者的阅读和译者的工作。本文以大量真实硬新闻文本为语料,从标题、导语、正文三方面分析归纳了现行汉语硬新闻英译中常用的翻译策略:直译、重组、替代、增、删。问卷调查数据结果显示:大部分读者对目的论指导下汉语硬新闻英译表示满意,从而证实了目的论关照下汉语硬新闻英译的可接受性;对于目的论指导下汉语硬新闻英译策略的运用,应避免更改新闻焦点,更改新闻范围,过度删减,不当增添等不当处理。笔者期望本文的研究结论对新闻报道的实际翻译操作以及新闻报道译者的培训活动能有一定的启发和指导效力。但本文本身也存在着局限性和不足之处,敬请各位批评指正。期待对此领域感兴趣的学者做进一步的探索研究。
