译者的翻译审美心理探析

论文摘要

译者是整个翻译过程的真正操作者或者说控制者,因为翻译中的任何事情如翻译标准的采纳、翻译方法的选择以及翻译结果的最终确立都是由译者来决定的。也就是说,翻译中真正起作用的是译者本身。根据辩证唯物主义观点,译者是内因,翻译中所有的其他因素都是通过译者才起作用的。因此,我们本应该对译者的研究给予充分的关注。换句话说,如果我们要在翻译研究上取得根本性的突破,就必须在译者身上而不是在别的方面寻找突破口。然而,我们此前的翻译研究过于关注翻译的外围,忽视了译者这个翻译行为的真正主体。 那么,我们要如何研究译者这个翻译主体呢?我们认为,对翻译主体即译者的研究主要是指对其翻译心理活动进行研究。我们知道,人类的行为大体上可以分为两类,即有意识行为和无意识行为。但不论是有意识的还是无意识的行为都是由行为主体的心理所控制的,都是其心理活动的反映。只有对译者的翻译心理活动进行了仔细的探讨,我们才能对翻译活动的实质有一个更加清晰的认识。 然而,译者的翻译心理活动有很多种,涉及其理解心理、价值心理、判断心理、审美心理、创造心理等等。而且,对译者的翻译心理进行研究是一个复杂的系统工程,本文不可能对译者的所有心理活动作出探讨。作者只是有选择地对译者翻译时的审美心理活动进行了初步的研究。 在译文的意义忠实于原文的前提下,译文读者总是倾向于读比较美点的译文,所以在翻译时进行翻译审美是译者应有的职责。事实上,美学进入翻译理论研究领域的时间是很早的。在西方,早在公元前46年,翻译理论的始祖西赛罗(Cicero)就提出了对译文的美学要求。在中国,对翻译中的审美问题进行过论述的译者或译论家也不在少
