英语听力理解认知策略培训实验研究

“听”,“说”,“读”,“写”为外语学习者必须掌握的四项基本技能,其中“听”的能力十分重要,居四者首位。与此同时,在过去的几十年里,英语学习策略已成为语言教学最热门的研究课题之一。对英语学习策略的研究也由最开始的探索性调查发展到较系统的、理论性的探讨和实验研究。随着第二语言学习策略研究的深入,认知在语言学习中的重要作用已逐渐被肯定,认知策略的运用潜力也为人们所认识。因此,认知策略对改善外语学习极其重要。为了使学生能更好地运用认知策略,本论文作者对吉林一所大学非英语专业的两个班65名学生进行了以认知策略培训为基础的听力教学实践,将这两个班分为实验组和受控组进行了为期一个学期的实验训练,其目的想通过该培训来提高学生自主应用策略的意识,从而提高其英语的听力水平。本实验将认知策略的培训与听力教学相结合,并贯穿于有指导的听力练习之中,实验着重回答以下四个问题:1)听力理解过程中中国的非英语专业大学生最常使用的认知策略是什么?2)认知策略的培训是否能提高中国非英语专业本科生的听力水平?3)成绩为高、中、低分不等的学生在听力理解过程中认知策略的运用有什么不同?本研究分析了数据的平均数和标准差,对数据进行了独立样本T检验,最后得出以下结论:1)在听力理解中,中国大学生运用策略的水平不高,只属于中等水平范围.2)通过为期一个学期的听力训练教学,在对两个实验组进行的前测后测的对比分析得出,实验后实验组的高、中、低分组的差距明显缩小,也就是说,实验后实验组的成绩明显提高。3)成绩为高、中、低分不等的学生在策略使用上有显著性差异,高分学生在认知策略使用上明显高于低分学生。以上研究结果表明,策略培训有助于非英语专业本科生听力水平的提高,在听力中坚持培养学生的认知策略可以缩小学生在听力学习中的两极分化,从而提高听力理解的成绩。由此,听力学习策略具有可传授性和可学习性。
