语境在词汇教学中的应用

很长一段时间,词汇教学都没有受到足够的重视,但它是任何语言教学的重要组成部分。然而,随着英语语篇教学的发展,在大部分英语课堂,大部分时间只是定义单词,而学生也只是反复地通过读和抄写单词进行记忆,而且在应用上也存在不少问题。教师们逐渐意识到语境在英语词汇教学中的重要性。交际中信息的传递是在语境中实现的,语境因素影响并制约词义的推导及阐释。离开特定的语境,词语的真正内涵就难以确定。语境在词汇学习中起着重要的作用。因此,在语境中学习词汇是课堂词汇学习的重要手段。本文尝试将语境理论与我国大学英语词汇教学相结合,从而帮助学生正确理解词义,提高学生的语言理解能力和交际能力。本研究主要讨论了以下几个问题：词义和语境之间的关系、语境在大学英语词汇教学中的作用以及怎样将语境理论应用到大学英语词汇教学中。作者简要回顾了语境理论的发展,介绍了马林诺夫斯基、弗斯以及韩礼德等关于语境的观点,同时介绍了国内语境理论的研究现状。作者认为词语的意义是由语境来决定的,没有了语境的帮助,词语的意义是难以确定的。在阐明词义和语境的关系的基础上,作者论述了语境在大学英语词汇教学中的作用。作者根据对当前大学英语现状的分析将语境理论应用于词汇教学,并对语境的分类和功能做出了阐释。本文把语境分为语言语境和非语言语境,前者包括词汇语境、语法语境和言语语境,而后者包括情景语境和文化语境。词汇语境可以帮助学生理解在不同词的搭配中词语的意义可能发生的变化；语法语境表明在不同的语法结构中词语意义不尽相同；言语语境让学生根据不同的语境线索猜测出词语的意义；情景语境能帮助学生全面掌握词的意义；关于文化语境,作者对英语和汉语之间词语的文化意义的异同进行比较。最后,通过本项研究,在语境中进行词汇教学能够帮助学生全面掌握词汇的意义并且正确地运用。
